What to Expect

Right Before Your Consult:

  • Try to have your baby ready to feed about 15 minutes after my arrival. If needed, offer a small “appetizer” feed to hold baby over.

  • Choose any room where you feel comfortable. There’s no need to tidy up—I’m a mother of three and completely understand the beautiful chaos of the postpartum period.

  • If you have pets, please put them in another room. This helps keep my equipment pet-dander free for any future families with sensitivities.

  • To make the most of your session, jot down any questions you have ahead of time.

During Your Consult:

  • Feel free to have a support person present. If you have older children with you, please have another adult supervise so we can focus on your consult.

  • I’ll sanitize my hands before we begin, and we’ll start by undressing your baby to a dry diaper.

  • I’ll weigh your baby on a medical-grade scale—breastfed babies in pounds and grams, bottle-fed babies in pounds.

  • We’ll review your intake form, discuss your unique situation and goals, and ensure you feel comfortable as we move through the consult.

  • If breastfeeding, I’ll observe a feeding session and take pre/post-feed weights to assess milk transfer. For bottle-fed babies, I’ll assess their bottle-feeding technique.

  • I’ll assess for any oral motor challenges, such as tongue or lip ties. This in-depth evaluation is typically completed within the first or second consult.

  • Throughout the consult I’ll provide customized recommendations tailored to your unique needs.

After Your Consult:

  • Within 24-48 hours, you’ll receive a PDF summary of all recommendations, evaluations, and any helpful images through your secure client portal.

  • Any referrals will be sent within 24-48 hours to the providers you specify.

  • Between consults, I’m here to answer questions through the private messaging portal.

  • I will update your primary care provider or relevant team members, like midwives or pediatricians, to ensure everyone is aligned in supporting your feeding journey.

If you’re ready to begin or would like to know more, I’d love to hear from you! Schedule your consultation today, or feel free to reach out with any questions. I look forward to supporting you and your family on this incredible journey!

Common products used during feeding support such as nipple shields, bottles, pumping accessories and others travel with me and are available to you as needed.

  • All consults include a 40-minute travel from zip code 29376. A small travel fee will be assessed for additional travel time.

  • For legality purposes, consultations cannot commence if onboarding documents have not been signed and submitted.

  • Prepayment at time of booking is required for all self-pay consults and any additional travel fees.

  • To ensure health insurance coverage, please complete your benefits verification at least 2 days prior to the consult. This will confirm your coverage in advance and help avoid prepayment requirements. If coverage is not confirmed by 24 hours prior to appointment, the consult fee will be automatically be charged. Fees will be refunded if insurance approval is received after the consult.
